Q: Why do you require the Boat Safety Education Certificate and previous boat or personal watercraft experience?
A: There are many reasons why we have more requirements than other rental companies:
-
You will stay with the rented PWC for at least 6 hours
-
Although we provide operating and safety instructions, you must be already familiar with boating regulations and rules of the road so you can operate safely during the rental period
-
You must understand on how to check the weather forecast, tides, waves and winds to determine where to go
-
We do not limit miles, so you must know how to refuel the PWC when required
-
Our PWCs are high performance touring PWCs, allowing you to more easily navigate choppy waters and carry 2 people, but also requiring more knowledgeable operators
Q: How long the Operating and Safety Instruction take?
A: Operating and Safety instruction take around 1.5 hours including on water check ride
We will execute these instructions even though you already know how to operate a PWC
Your Rental Period will start only after the Operating and Safety instruction period is successfully completed
Q: Will you evaluate if the operators are capable of operating a PWC?
A: Yes, we will evaluate the operators all the time.
If we identify that an operator is not capable of safely operate the personal watercraft during the check-ride, he/she will no longer be able to operate it. He/she can then be listed as a passenger if willing to do so.
Additionally, if we identify that no operator is capable of safely operate the personal watercraft, we will cancel the rental agreement with 70% refund to the Renter.
Check Terms & Agreements before booking it!
Q: Can I operate the rented PWC wherever I want?
A: We do not limit miles or distance, but we do have rules:
-
Do not ride within 100 feet of a dock, boat, vessel, personal watercraft, or any other object in the water. It is the law! We don’t limit miles or distance, but don’t break the law and don’t be an asshole, and don’t be unsafe
-
Stay clear of all restricted areas
-
Operate only where you have at least 90cm (3 ft) of water under the lowest rear portion of the hull when all passengers are aboard
-
Do not operate on the ocean if waves maximum height is higher than 3 feet and wind speed at sea is faster than 10mph. Use Nautide App or any other similar App that provide the same level of information as Nautide to check it
-
On the ocean:
-
Do not operate further than 2 miles from the shore
-
Do not operate within 200 feet from shore
-
-
We do not limit miles or distance but you MUST be back on the delivery address on the the agreed time or you will be charged $100 by each 30 min delay. So evaluate carefully how far you will operate so you can be back on time
Q: I rented for multiples days, will the PWCs be docked at the house during the rental period?
A: It depends. We will evaluate if the location, the dock characteristics and the rental length are appropriate to mount the DockyDock PWC Cover on the Dock property and leave the PWC(s) overnight.
If we identify that for any reason it is better to not mount the DockyDock Cover on the dock property, we will remove the PWC(s) every day by the end of the day and return it on the next morning.
Q: I rented for multiples days, can I take it for a trip and dock it overnight somewhere else?
A: No. Main reasons are:
-
Security: Waves, tides and winds can move the PWC and damage it if it is docked on a non approved place.
-
Maintenance: The Post Operation Care must be done every time you go out with the PWC. We will perform the Post Operation Care and some additional checklists every rental day at the end of the day.
Q: You evaluated that you can mount the DockyDock PWC cover on the dock property. What is the DockyDock?
A: DockyDock Inflatable is an underwater PWC hull cover. It will be floating using an inflatable parameter tube, with a tailgate that can lower up and down to give access for the PWC to dock in and out.
We will pump the water everyday and perform the regular Post Operation Care on the PWC on it.
